Brent acquired Spectra Benefits in 2002 and was the founding partner for the employee benefits division. Spectra Benefits, based in Sandy, Utah, provides organizations with group insurance tailor-made to strengthen employee security and wellbeing.
Prior to his position at Spectra Benefits, Brent served as a senior account executive with a human resource outsourcing firm and served in the U.S. Army Reserve representing soldiers returning from Desert Storm in matters pertaining to retirement, life insurance, and the G.I. bill.
Brent was named one of Utah’s “Forty Under 40” by Utah Business Magazine and is also one of the magazine’s contributing authors. He currently serves on the board of the Utah Entrepreneur Organization and serves on the broker advisory board of SelectHealth, Aetna, and the exclusive Utah representative for the National Advisory for UnitedHealthcare.
Brent holds a B.S. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Utah. He resides in South Jordan, Utah, with his wife Jessica and their two children, where you can often find them exploring the state’s endless outdoor wonders on boats or bikes. Brent adores music—and James Brown in particular—with an uncommon fervor.
Partner/Sr. Benefits Advisor
Ryan began employment with Spectra Management in 2005 as a Relationship Manager. Based on his extensive industry knowledge and talent he assisted the firm in that role through 2008 when he became an equity partner. Ryan manages the group health and insurance services division of Spectra in both a sales and support capacity. He brings communication and technological expertise to the client relationship that delivers the firms commitment to “redefine the role of an advisor.
Prior to joining Spectra, Ryan began his career in the benefits arena at Altius Health Plans progressing through several roles including sales support, provider relations, large and small group account representative. He is a registered agent in life, and health in Utah. Ryan functions as a Business Advisor and Relationship Manager for key accounts and is involved in process development. Ryan serves on the broker advisory board for Humana and PEHP. Ryan speaks fluent Spanish and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Utah.
DEB ROSENHAN, SPHR®
Chief Compliance Officer
Deb joined Spectra Management in 2011 and serves as the Chief Compliance Officer. With an exceptional 28 years in the health insurance industry, her most recent position prior to Spectra was the VP of Sales and Marketing for Altius Health Plans, a subsidiary of Coventry Health Care. During her 18 year tenure at Altius, Deb’s position included individual, small and large group sales. In addition she directed the Product Development Committee and both Broker and Employer Advisory Boards, which effectively combined select groups at various levels in think-tank type collaborative meetings.
Deb’s previous involvement with Compliance, Underwriting and Provider Relations on the carrier side, brings a solid level of operational expertise that directly benefits our clients. Her particular aptitude for training and presenting allow Spectra to augment their robust communication arsenal with additional multidimensional tools.
At Spectra, Deb’s role as Chief Compliance Officer is critical as we assist our clients in the timely communication and implementation of PPACA, ERISA and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), COBRA and other federal laws relating to employee benefits. Deb works closely with both our clients and internal staff to assist with the implementation process and compliance timelines. As a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Deb also adds a valuable resource assisting our clients as needs arise.
Deb has been a speaker in regard to compliance for several employer and HR groups including the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) of which she is a member. She is registered as a Utah health and life agent in addition to being a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and Utah Association of Health Underwriters (UAHU).
Director of Operations
Michelle Cisneros joined the Spectra Management team in 2016 as Operations Manager, bringing more than twenty years’ experience in similar positions. Prior to joining the Spectra team, Michelle led the Human Resource department at the Perseon Corporation for seven years, where she managed all aspects of the department, including employment, benefits, and employment policies. Michelle also led teams at Intermountain Healthcare, ADP, and Ballard Medical.
With her considerable experience and expertise, Michelle’s role at Spectra is crucial in maintaining efficiency in our day-to-day operations. Her number one priority is to facilitate positive client experiences that meet and surpass expectations.
Outside Spectra, Michelle volunteers with Huntsman Cancer Institute, specifically their Huntsman Hometown Heroes Team. She has logged hundreds of miles running to raise money and awareness for patients and their families.
